Wow what a day….. Being woken by Mats is now becoming routine. We woke to take an hour long cab ride to the Lacoste shop in Paris where any one with a contract picks up the new gear. What a different world that is! After an hour of watching Mats gather a new wardrobe, we headed back to rest before our practice match against Lukas Dlouhy and Leander Paes (third seed in the tournament and last years winners). Walked to Roland-Garros and met up with Karel beneath Lenglen court in the players lounge. Shared a baguette with the Czech ambassador to France (who is the head of The Ministry of Finance) and headed onto court 12. Warming up was exciting. These guys were excited about hitting with Mats but did not know what to expect out of me. These guys hands were silly! Paes hit one shot that had to be the most unbelievable knee high swinging volley down the line I have ever seen. Mats and I held are own though! We then showered and Mats went to commentate the Hewitt match as I watched from the media seats. Upon the matches completion, raced to Eurosport where Mats was being “prepped” for makeup ( funny site). I then watched the taping of Game Set Mats. We finished up there and then attended a reception with the heads of Eurosport. What a day!!!
