One of Mats greatest friends on the tour is now a member of WOW and we are glad to have him! Pat is a 1987 Wimbledon Singles Champion and 1987 and 1988 Australian Open Finalist. During his illustrious career, Pat was winner of 19 career ATP tour tiles, 7 in singles and 12 in doubles. He achieved his highest singles ranking of No. 4 in May of 1988. After his retirement from the main tour, Pat coached Greg Rusedski and Mark Phillipoussis and has also established tennis academies on the Gold Coast of Australia, Thailand and the Caribbean. He also works as a color commentator for the BBC and Sky TV in the UK.
JAN MICHAEL-GAMBIL
Jan Michael is by far the best looking member of WOW’s team! He was voted one of the 50 most beautiful people in the World by PEOPLE magazine in 2000. On top of his looks, Jan-Michael has three career singles titles to his resume and held a career high ranking of 14 (2001). His best performance in the Grand Slams came at Wimbledon (2000) where he reached the Quarterfinals. He also had a fourth round US Open appearance (2004) and two second round appearances at both the French (1998, 2000) and Australian (2003, 2004). His last appearance in a Major came in 2005. WOW had an opportunity to participate in a charity event with Jan-Michael in Doylestown (October 2010) and enjoyed his enthusiasm and demeanor on and off the court.
MURPHY JENSEN
Murphy Jensen is the greatest tennis player who grew up on a Christmas Tree farm in Northern Michigan . . . if you don’t count his brother Luke. Murphy and his brother Luke captured the French Open doubles title in 1993. They also went on to claim three other doubles titles during their careers. Murphy stars in his own television series which airs on Tennis Channel titled Murphy’s Guide where Murphy serves as a tennis fans guide in a particular city during a major tennis tournament. Murphy’s energy and love of tennis and life is a perfect fit for the WOW team.
MIKAEL PERNFORS
A former top ten player (1986) hails from Malmo Sweden. He is one of Mats’ closest friends from his days on the tour. He began his tennis career by winning back-to-back NCAA singles titles in 1984 and 1985. During his professional career, he won three career singles titles and one doubles title. His best performance found him in the Finals of the French Open in 1986. He also reached the Quarterfinals of the Australian Open and had two fourth round appearances in Wimbledon (1986-1987) and one at the US Open (1989). WOW is glad to have Mikael on-board as his crowd-pleasing game and array of trick serves and volleys are somerthing to marvel at.
VINCENT SPADEA
Has a career high ranking of 18 (2005) and was a two time former US Olympian in 2000 at Sydney and again in 2004 in Athens. He has one career singles title and three career doubles title victories to his name. His best performance in a Major came at the Australian Open (1999) where he reached the Quarterfinals. He also had two fourth round appearances at the US Open (1995,1999) as well as at Wimbledon (2004). Vince also had three French Open third round appearances (1999, 2002, and 2003.)
